Double Wear Estèe Lauder foundation - review

Non so come proceda la vostra estate ma qui da me continuano ad esserci 37-40° ogni giorno per cui è impensabile fare altro che non sia stare in acqua, al mare, o in casa con l’aria fredda accesa.

Ecco perché odio l’estate.

Ieri c’è stata l’eclissi di luna, stupenda 😍 voi siete riuscite a vederla? Se ve la siete persa, su Instagram ci sono ancora tantissime foto della super luna rossa (alcune palesemente finte 😑) ma, non vi nascondo che osservarla dal vivo è tutta un’altra cosa!

Il mese che volge al termine è stato ricco di nuovi acquisti e scoperte e, nel frattempo che preparo un post sui preferiti di Luglio, volevo farvi conoscere le mie opinioni sul fondotinta di Estèe Lauder che ho acquistato qualche settimana fa.

Il motivo per cui la mia scelta è ricaduta su questo prodotto è perché il fondo di L’Oreal che usavo prima (l’Infaillible 24h matt) non è adattissimo all’estate calda e afosa che c’è qui al sud: già a metà giornata la mia faccia diventava lucida e appiccicosa e il “peso” del prodotto sulla pelle cominciava ad essere fastidioso.

Così ho googlato “miglior fondotinta per pelli che si lucidano facilmente” ed è venuto fuori il post di Clio in cui il Double Wear di Estèe Lauder è al primo posto.

Vado subito al dunque e vi spiego perché lo amo!

La sua texture, piuttosto cremosa, si stende facilmente (io uso la beauty blender) e uniformemente e, sebbene in un primo momento il prodotto possa sembrare molto “umido”, man mano che si stende e si assorbe, comincia a fissarsi e mattificarsi.

La coprenza è medio/alta;  il fondo si stratifica molto bene senza però risultare pesante. Perfetto sia se cercate un look fresco e naturale sia se volete qualcosa di più strutturato: non a caso, è il fondotinta preferito dai makeup artist per il trucco sposa.

La sua formula è molto confortevole: tiene a bada unto e oleosità senza però seccare la pelle. Nonostante la descrizione sul sito di Estèe Lauder assicuri una durata di 24 ore (per me è impensabile tenere il trucco per tutto questo tempo!) posso dirvi che, su di me, resiste intatto per ben 8-10 ore.

Particolarmente adatto alle pelli grasse (addirittura Clio lo sconsiglia alle pelle miste, proprio per il suo potere opacizzante) privo di oli minerali e di profumi, la boccetta da 30 ml ha un prezzo di 49 € (si lo so, uno sproposito!). Io, però, l’ho acquistato su Sensation dov’è venduto a 42 €, usufruendo anche dello sconto di 5 € per aver creato il mio profilo sullo store, quindi in definitiva l’ho pagato 37€: 12 euro in meno!

Unica nota dolente: il pack. La boccetta, in vetro opaco, non ha il dosatore e questa, per me, è una mancanza gravissima considerato quanto costa! Senza parlare di quanto sia scomodo prelevare il prodotto senza la pompetta: si rischia ogni volta di fare un disastro e sprecare (preziosissimo) fondotinta!

That's why I hate summer.

Yesterday there was the wonderful eclipse of the moon 😍 have you been able to see it? If you missed it, on Instagram there are still many photos of the super red moon (some clearly fake 😑) but watching it live is quite another thing!

This month has been full of new purchases and discoveries and, in the meantime I prepare a post on July's favorite I wanted to introduce you to my opinions on Estée Lauder foundation, bought a few weeks ago.

The reason why I chose this product is because the L'Oreal foundation I used before (the Infaillible 24h matt) is not very suitable for the hot and muggy summer that is here in the south: already halfway day my face became shiny and sticky and the "weight" of the product on my skin was beginning to be annoying.

So I googled "best foundation for oily skin" and came out a Clio's post in which Estée Lauder Double Wear is at the top of the list.

I'll explain why I love it!

Its texture, rather creamy, blends easily (I use beauty blender) and uniformly and, although at first the product may seem very "wet" as it blends it begins to fix and stay matt.

Coverage is medium/high; the foundation is very well buildable without being heavy. Perfect if you are looking for a fresh and natural look or if you want something more structured: not surprisingly, it is the foundation preferred by makeup artists for bridal makeup.

Its formula is very comfortable: it stay fresh  through heat and humidity. Despite the description on Estèe Lauder's website that guarantees a 24 hours staying power (for me it is insane to keep makeup all this time!) I can tell you that, on me, it stays intact for 8-10 hours.

Particularly suitable for oily skin, without mineral oils and perfumes, the 30 ml bottle has a price of € 49 (so high!) but I bought it on Sensation where it is sold for € 42, also taking advantage of the € 5 discount for creating my profile on the store, so I ultimately paid it € 37: € 12 less!

The only flaw: the pack. The bottle, in opaque glass, does not have the dispenser and this, for me, is a very serious lack, considering how much it costs! Without talking about how uncomfortable it is to take the product without the pump: you risk every time to make a mess and waste (very precious) foundation!
