Adding Autumn Accents - Four DIY Projects

Volevo assolutamente realizzarle da me!

ENG
Autumn decorations are my favourite because autumn is my favorite season, because I love its warm shades that recall earth and leaves on trees, because we start preparing for Christmas! I have made these projects inspired by the typical elements of this season - like pumpkins - inspired by shabby style (that I love) and using simple, rustic materials, all found during my countryside walks.
Finally I can share with you what I made!

For the first project I used some simple newspapers to create a white shabby wicker heart.
First, I cut the newspaper getting rectangular paper strips and I rolled each strip on itself with the help of a wooden stick, so as to create quite thin paper chopsticks. After getting a certain number of chopsticks, I cut about 50 cm of iron wire and then inserted it into a paper wand with which I shaped the heart. I continued to insert a wand into the other, intertwining it around the heart in a casual manner and when the weave seemed good, I fixed the end of the wand with vinyl glue and painted everything with white spray paint.
Now you could just tie a ribbon to the top of your heart and hang it on your doorstep, or make a lot of little hearts and use them as decoration for the Christmas tree, or you can choose to decorate it a little more: I created a burlap bow first ad another one smaller with a orange ribbon and tied on this a silvery bell. I glued the orange bow on the burlap one and created, with a string, a small hook behind. I hung it on my bedroom wall.

With a smaller wicker heart, twigs and pine cones I created the second project.
In short, I created three bunches of wood, one bigger and two smaller, to which I added a pine cone on each end. I tied the smaller bunches to the larger one adding the wicker heart in the middle.

For the twig wreath I created a large ring with newspapers and scotch tape (I did not do it but I would recommend it: lined the ring with burlap ribbon, in order to obtain an even color background to hide the newspaper below). Then I had a nice walk in the countryside. 😄 Yeah, to pick up woods, almonds, pine cones, dry leaves and so on, you can use what you like! I hot glued twigs first, creating several layers, following the circular shape of the ring; then all the rest (dried leaves and almonds) and lastly the burlap bow. Hanging it on the front door gives that very idea of autumn!

Fabric pumpkins were my favorite project! I've seen them on Instagram and I absolutely wanted to diy them! I wanted to make them from velvet but since I could not find that fabric, I used some plain white cloth I had at home, but the result was just lovely!
I cropped a large circle from the fabric and, with needle and thread, I sewed simple points along the entire girth, about one centimeter from the outer edge. I gently pulled one end of the thread, wrinkling the edge of the fabric, creating a sort of bag. I filled in with a handful of chickpeas (or beans, or whatever you want) and some padding. I closed the bag well and stopped with a few points. To complete it I took a real pumpkin branch, cleaned it, made it dry in the sun and glued it to the top of the fake pumpkin.
If you have no way of getting the real branch you can replace it with a piece of wood, a few leaves cut out from the jute ribbon and some fake flowers. Hot glue it on the top and here's your fabric pumpkin!
