5 step for a better blog photo

POSIZIONARSI SEMPRE DOVE C'E' PIU' LUCE

Come?

Se avete Instagram, be' allora usatelo!

ENG
I'm not a professional photographer and this does not want to be a professional guide to the wonderful world of photography, but I've taken care of my little blog for almost five years, and I've also learned something about it during all this time. Reading other blogs, experimenting, even making mistakes, I think I have perfected the technique in terms of photos (just look at those of the first posts and those of now) and today I want to share with you what I learned because, let's face it, at least 50% of the success of a post depends on the quality of photos in it!
I hope to let you discover something you didn't know!

ALWAYS CHOOSE BRIGHT PLACES
Taking pictures in low light is the most stupid mistake you can make! You will only get ugly, grainy or very dark photos. To solve the problem, just place yourself in front of the biggest and brightest window you have! Natural light is to be preferred because it allows us to get the best result even with the camera of our smartphone. If it's raining outside and there is a lack of natural light, do not use the flash, just do not take pictures! đŸ˜„
My advice is to make the most of the days when there is a lot of light, taking several photos and not just what we need: in this way we will have a reserve to draw on in the days of low light.

CREATE A BACKGROUND
The brightest window in the house does not offer us the background we want?
Well, don't think that all the white and marbled backgrounds of Instagram are what they are! Often when you take a picture you only show what you want to show and sometimes this is just a beautiful illusion! I mean we can very well recreate the illusion of white parquet and marble tables in our home. How?
Get one of those white cards (100x70 cm), spread it on the ground and you will have your white background perfect for flatlays! If you want something more original I suggest you to draw in pencil or with a black or gray marker parallel lines at about 15 cm of distance from each other. Add some small signs that reproduce the grain and knots of the wood and you will have your white parquet!
If you want something more chic, use the marble adhesive paper, stick it to a flat surface (a 70x70 cm piece of cardboard will be fine) and use it as a support for your flatlays!

CHOOSE A COLOR SCHEME
One of the things not to do if you want to get an aesthetically beautiful and tidy shot is to put random stuffs and too many colors in a picture. Create a color combination that is pleasing to the eye, that gives harmony to the whole. You can find lots of color schemes on internet! ;)

REDUCE THE WEIGHT OF PICS
After taking the picture and before starting to edit it you will need to lighten it a bit, so you can load it faster on the blog or transfer it faster to another device.
I prefer the simplest and fastest method, which does not require some kind of complicated program to use, ie using Paint. Just open the photo with Paint and click "resize" on the top left. You will see a smaller window where you can choose whether to resize in percentage or pixel. Always choose in percentage and, depending on the size of your photo, write the percentage in the appropriate spaces (if you enter the value in the "horizontally" box it will also be shown in the "vertically" box) and click "ok". I usually set a 50% initial and a further 50% and save my image.

ALWAYS EDIT YOUR PHOTOS
After lightening your photo it's time to edit it! From this step depends on the success (or not) of your post, believe me!
You do not need any kind of tricky editing program to change your shot, even the one already present on your laptop for viewing images is fine! If you have Instagram, then use it! I'm not talking about filters (I personally do not use any of them) but those parameters, like brightness, contrast, saturation, temperature and highlights, which allow you to get a picture worthy of being published!
Have fun creating the perfect combination of these elements and, when you seem to have achieved a result that you like, save it on your phone! Yes, because did you know you could save a photo with Instagram without having to publish it? Just edit the photo on the app and, before publishing it, put the airplane mode on your phone. Now publish the photo: a message will warn you that, at the moment, it is not possible to publish it. Now delete the post and return to normal mode, check your gallery and voilĂ ! You will find the edited photo in the "Instagram" album.
Other lovely editing programs that I like to use are VSCO and Pixrl.
